Sahitya Akademi Announces Bal Sahitya Puraskar and Yuva Puraskar Winners for the Year

22 Bal Sahitya Puraskar winners and 20 Yuva Puraskar winners for this year have been named by the Sahitya Akademi.

The list was announced on Thursday during a meeting of the Sahitya Akademi's Executive Board, which was presided over by its president Sri Madhav Kaushik, according to a release from the National Academy of Letters.

Renowned children's novelist Sudha Murty is one of the recipients of the Bal Sahitya Puraskar, and she will receive recognition for her book of short stories titled "Grandparents' Bag of Stories," according to a release.

Suryanath Singh's collection of short tales, "Kotuk App," has been chosen for the same award's Hindi language category.

'Lords Of The Deccan: Southern India From Chalukyas To Cholas' by Anirudh Kanisetti will earn the Yuva Puraskar, while 'Chandpur ki Chanda' by Atul Kumar Rai will win the same prize in the Hindi language category.

The Yuva Puraskar winners for Manipuri, Maithili, and Sanskrit, as well as the Bal Sahitya Puraskar for Manipuri, will be announced later, according to the Sahitya Akademi.

For Kashmiri and Odia, no winners of the Yuva Puraskar or Bal Sahitya Puraskar were announced.

The other winners of the Bal Sahitya Puraskar are Rothindranath Goswami (Assamese), Shyamalkanti Das (Bengali), Pratima Nandi Narzaree (Bodo), Balwan Singh Jamoria (Dogri), Rakshabahen Prahladrao Dave (Gujarati), Vijayashree Haladi (Kannada), Tukaram Rama Shet (Konkani), Akshay Anand 'Sunny' (Maithili), Priya AS (Malayalam), Eknath Avhad (Marathi).

Madhusudan Bisht (Nepali), Jugal Kishore Sarangi (Odia), Gurmeet Karyalvi (Punjabi), Kiran Badal (Rajasthani), Radhavallabh Tripathi (Sanskrit), Mansing Majhi (Santali), Dholan Rahi (Sindhi), Udhayasankar (Tamil), DK Chaduvula Babu (Telugu), and Mateen Achalpuri are the remaining ten winners of the Bal Sahitya Puraskar.

The 18 additional recipients of the Yuva Puraskar are: Assamese-speaking Jintu Gitartha, Bengali-speaking Hamiruddin Middya, Bodo-speaking Mainaosri Daimary, Gujarati-speaking Sagar Shah, Kannada-speaking Manjunayak Challur, Kashmiri Nighat Nasreen, Konkani-speaking Tanvi Kamat Bambolkar, Malayalam
